Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the due date calculation?
Naegele's rule provides an estimate. Only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. Most births occur within 2 weeks before or after the estimated date.
Should I use LMP or conception date?
If you know your exact conception date (e.g., from IVF or tracked ovulation), use that — it's more precise. Otherwise, use your last menstrual period. If your cycle is irregular, try the conception date method or consult your doctor for an ultrasound dating.
What are the three trimesters?
The 1st trimester is weeks 1-12 (organ formation), the 2nd trimester is weeks 13-27 (rapid growth), and the 3rd trimester is weeks 28-40 (final development and preparation for birth).
What does the week bar show?
Each block represents one week of the ~40-week pregnancy. Filled blocks are completed weeks, the partially filled block is your current week. The colors indicate trimesters: blue for 1st, yellow for 2nd, and green for 3rd.
